Assistant decorative painter
Type of labour required: Skilled.
They generally help the main decorative painter in preparing the paint & polymer mix, applying it, and analysing the material of exterior and interior wall, furniture, floor etc.
Painting helper
Type of labour required: unskilled
The individuals have to follow the instructions as given by the lead painter, help in shifting equipment or furniture, clean and handle tools and materials, prepare the surface, dispose of waste, and assist in post-painting.
Industrial application
General Industrial (Liquid) Painter
Type of labour required: Skilled.
The people here are involved in understanding colour, finish, and the chemistry of each colour, preparing liquid application paint, coating the paint with machines and tools, etc.
Powder Coater
Type of labour required: Skilled.
These skilled workers coat metal surfaces of automobiles, home appliances, furniture, heavy machinery, control panels and other equipment used in industry and hospitals. Also, they must have knowledge about powder chemistry, finish, application, etc.
Protective and Marine painter
Type of labour required: Skilled.
Their skills enable them to develop an understanding of which paint & polymer coat will ensure the vessels and equipment withstand environmental conditions, preparing the surface, and applying the appropriate paint followed by a protective coat.
Shop Tinting Operator
Type of labour required: semiskilled
They work mainly at the point of sale. They have to follow the manufacturer’s formula of paint and prepare the colour as demanded by the customer in the tinting machine. Besides, they are responsible for counter sales and service, inventory management, etc.

Extrusion operator
Type of labour required: skilled
This job role is mainly about converting the raw materials into flakes by using the extrusion machine and using those flakes in pre-mixing.
Air Classification Mill Operator
Type of labour required: skilled
Their work starts after extrusion operators have finished producing flakes. They take those flakes and convert them into desired sized-particles so that they match the process chart.
Production QC in-charge
Type of labour required: skilled
These workers have to check the intermediate product during the production process and ensure they match the desired quality as per the company standards. They perform specific tests to check the quality.
Tinting Operator
Type of labour required: semiskilled
All these workers have to do is prepare paint according to the shade card provided by the company and match the colour codes so that customers get what they want. Sometimes they also perform retail-counter sales and have to manage the inventory as well.
Tumbling operator

These workers have to operate the tumbling machine at work to produce finely ground powder paint.

Type of labour required: semiskilled, unskilled
These workers apply paint on the surface (masonry or wood, etc.) to attain a decorative finish. If you choose unskilled labour for this purpose, make sure they at least have knowledge about safe work practices.
Repair painter (automobile)
Type of labour required: semiskilled, unskilled
They prepare the body surface of a motor vehicle before applying paint, assist in painting and coating after painting, and assist in installing or replacing painted body parts of motor vehicles.
